Sacred Steel have me with her new album is anything but easily made: it was felt already announced ages ago and there was not even the limited box at the download release show at Victory Carnage. But all these circumstances are forgotten, for dance music while I was allowed to take the box in reception. To get an idea of this I have allowed me to take a video, as I unpack it and follow the latest trend of Unboxings :
As announced in the video I will now So go to the actual content: the music!
The first thing I would note that the disc has left the first runs a mixed impression: in one run I found almost all the pieces perfectly strong and the very next Hördurchlauf there were always places that I liked did not like that.
But Sacred Steel are worth that addresses the individual pieces, which I will now do: is initiated Carnage Victory of the high-speed number "Charge Into Overkill," which to me is the logical continuation of Maniacs of Speed of last album. An absolute high-caliber with extremely high screams of Gerrit, just as you would as Sacred Steel trailer after all and would like to have!
It follows "Do not Break The Oath" and the presumption that one has thought to write this title at Mercyful Fate is confirmed in the booklet too. His high points reached the particular piece dadurch, dass Gerrit sich mit sich selbst ein Duell liefert. Eine Stelle extrem hoch und im nächsten Moment schon wieder sehr gesittet. Mein Kumpel Matze sagte einmal über die ersten beiden Alben von Sacred Steel, dass diese ihm besonders auf Grund dessen gefallen, dass Gerrits Stimme in jedem Augenblick eine gewisse Schizophrenie ausdrückt, was bei späteren Veröffentlichungen etwas verloren gegangen ist. Bei"Don't Break The Oath" ist diese Schizophrenie auf alle Fälle wieder eingekehrt.
Als nächstes folgt der Titelsong "Carnage Victory" mit einem messerscharfen Riff und mit diesem Prädikat tritt er für mich persönlich in die Fußstapfen von "By Steel We Rule" von der Wargods Of Metal . Was applies to the riff from the song I can not say unfortunately, because it robs the song quite a bit of its strength and its pressure - I am of the opinion that one here quite a bit more could get out.
With "Broken Rites" follows the piece that has not already at the release show that fond of, and unfortunately it is still the case. I had the song been many opportunities but it will not just like me.
So quickly go to "Crosses Stained With Blood", and so already knows to please a lot better. The beginning builds incredible to much tension and keeps them on the entire game. Again I must say something about the voice: How often on this album the vocal lines quite a bit different than it used to be known by the band and in this title, this is now managed particularly well - reaching for a volume control with one swing of the wheel to the right is inevitable.
"Ceremonial Magician Of The Left Hand Path" then, as always, the typical Doom / Epic song that belongs to each Sacred Steel album and successful as its predecessors nothing. An absolute diamond of a song that grows with each cycle continues and grows.
"The Skeleton Key" is waiting again with a chorus that grabs the one directly by the balls and shakes - is not everything I say.
"Shadows Of Reprisal" acts as an intro and shows what guitarist Jonas so everything can do on an acoustic guitar. Even if one, as I know the technical background to assess for missing, can as much skill behind it, it is nevertheless obvious that in any case, a lot needs to be. I feel the rest is very like the quiet sequences of Nile - anything but a bad reference.
The following is a direct switch to "Denial Of Judas (Heaven Betrayed", which reached a special highlight on the site if, for all instruments rest stop off and you hear only the vocals - absolutely amazing and a piece that in the future like a regular place can get on the setlist.
With "Metal Underground" is about, at least as far as the text back a little way to the roots. The piece is a love letter to the metal and its scene and you get a guest singer Roberto Dimitri Liapakis of Mystic Prophecy hear where Matze also could ever wield the drum sticks. I found the piece initially quite good, unfortunately it is a song that has been very quickly and it sucks for me just the other way all the other tracks on the album. Where all others are becoming more powerful and gaining in strength from Hördurchlauf to Hördurchlauf this is unfortunately weaker.
Does not matter though, because it is next a piece on the ears, the back is an absolute highlight: "We Ride By Vengeance and Hatred". The one where you have used either in the death metal box and uses these nuances at precisely the right dimensions and unpacks a refrain that you will not soon let go - a perfect bouncer!
The attentive reader will have noticed that I have mentioned on several tracks on the song and this also has its reasons: I have already noted above in passing and would like to again state that occupies this an even greater role than earlier. Previously, the song was the main reason the focus because the spirits left him and against hardly neutral opinions Gerrits body were possible. Today he has taken a little of his extreme style and he barks down the lyrics and his voice is less sure within the songs to carry a much larger role. This robs the songs but at times a bit of their aggression, but that pieces are created to establish themselves much more in the ear and have a much greater potential to be more powerful.
But the rest of the band is a lot to express. Especially with "Shadows Of Reprisal" shows Jonas his skills on guitar, Matze strengthens my thesis that he is one of the best drummers in Germany, and Jens, from whose pen the majority is under Evidence on what works, he is able to write.
in the end is a powerful disk, which you should treat yourself more than a few cycles to evaluate it in its full brilliance, can also change what one or two more pieces of anything weaker. Sacred Steel can make some steps forward, in this way but unfortunately some favorite habits on the track. First, this probably catches the eye Cover:

You can insert the DVD so happy times for the ultimate live experience, but I put all the live-DVD Blessings to the heart, this is not about the fact that I was at the recording site, but rather because this disc of me is the ultimate metal DVD.
