How To Help A Gay Sister

few words on the death of Dickie Peterson

Salve

It's Monday evening and I really wanted a little concert review about the Iron Fist Festival Pt. III lose on Saturday, but to me it is important to current events to write down a few lines of Dickie Peterson.

Today, just before closing time I received the news that Dickie Peterson this morning has died. Not everyone is this name say something now, but when I throw the same name of his band in the room will rise to one or another is certainly a little light. It was at Dickie Peterson namely by none other than the singer of Blue Cheer, which not only significantly responsible for shaping my life were music, but this quasi even invented. Long before my time and a year before the first musical steps, Black Sabbath, they have to Vincebus Eruptum virtually invented the prototype of a musical style that is nowadays commonly known under the banner of "Heavy Metal". What was from today's perspective goes through best be described as Stoner Rock then the loudest, which was unleashed on humanity:

The impact this band had a whole scene is put to little in words and Reverend Bizarre even went so far as to miss a compilation a cover which has a tribute to the first may Heavy Metal disc pays homage to all:

I even had my first contact with the band many years ago as part of a long Beat-Club night in SWR. Until the morning at 4 or 5 clock I sat transfixed in front of the TV, armed with the remote control to ban the VCR, all interesting recordings on VHS tape. There were performances by the aforementioned Black Sabbath, Deep Purple or Jimi Hendrix . All of these names I knew and admired at that time, of course, but there was also a show that I should not go out of my head - it was Blue Cheer cover of Eddie Cochran's Summertime Blues:

This shot was with me the next few weeks up and down, without that I knew what band it was because of all: I had started the video recorder too late, because my name at the announcement simply said nothing. I realized quickly, however, that I am dealing here with something special. Only years later did I get out that this is Blue Cheer. announced

When the band then last year for a concert in Tübingen for me it was only a matter of course to visit this and I have not looked back. Dickie Peterson was full of energy and was amazed how this man had on stage many a young boy on the wall can play. As part of this tour, moreover, a concert was recorded by Rockpalast .

have I often told you of this special concert and a sad day like today I think back with joy that I had the opportunity to bring this experience.

Thanks Dickie Peterson! You have ignited a spark that lives in my heart as a sea of flames!
