What had I got myself this evening. Already on the tour in March new songs from the new Sacred Steel album could be heard and it was clear that they would feel in the camp of the band back to tradition, therefore to throw a release party and concert. However, months went by and there were only piecemeal News to hear. But a few weeks it was ready and the concert was for 22 Announced in October. But not enough of the fact that there would be another release show, so there were a few conditions that could increase the anticipation even more: The fact that the concert would be on a Thursday and therefore increase during the week was more than sufficient so balanced, that the whole was held to free admission. As surprised and delighted I was happy about the fact that in addition to the powerful Sacred Steel also Dawn Of Winter vocalist Gerrit and thus would be seen in two capacities.
At some point it finally happened and the long expected and awaited Thursday was hot. The week before the night I gave my anticipation for this evening with daily Twitter estates expression, and agree to one or the other may have gone to the sack, for which there will be a matter of course at this point no excuse.
Back to the day of decision: We started out the trip to Stuttgart, where I was allowed a few days previously one of the rare Dawn Of Winter-see gigs . Unfortunately this was not possible this evening, as the limited box to Carnage Victory only a week late can be delivered. Now to the musical part of the evening, which was started by Dawn Of Winter. Their set list was different, as announced, at any point of the three days earlier in Stuttgart . If this did not detract from the quality, it was the gig in Cape Tormentoso but the more convincing for me. The much smaller atmosphere there is the incredibly intense music from Dawn Of Winter just much better to face. But I never want to talk to the presence RoFa bad. There was also a terrific concert by a powerful band that could gather a surprisingly large number of bangers from the stage.
After the announcement, Watch Me Bleed short term would participate in this concert evening I have the material on the MySpace page belonging, and could tell within a very short time, where I would be the date on which the stand on the stage: outside! It is a cliché that is overused for sure, but in moments like this that I know I can just stand 100% behind it: I LOVE HEAVY METAL! Sacred Steel and play not just heavy metal, like all the other bands: this band is the incarnation of Heavy Metal. The next time I will ask a non-metalhead, which is metal and what it means to me I will play for him in response to Wargods Of Metal - should have any questions then this person will never understand all this. But I digress
; back to the concert: The right start was then started with "Carnage Rules The Fields Of Death" - can there be anything better? I had the band at least at this point on their side and a spell over me that made me enjoy the rest of the concert in a trance. What followed was another older song, and "Charge Into Overkill" the first new piece; But that has not played for the first time live and therefore at least a small circle was known. Also new was the following "Carnage Victory", located a number more in the mid-tempo, which was carried to a considerable extent Gerrits voice. Vocally throughout other regions it was with the death metal number "Slaughter Prophecy". I'm not a big death metal fan and have placed almost all sympathy for this style in recent years, but in the form presented by Sacred Steel I let me serve you. Also new, "Broken Rites" was launched with a Wutrede to the Catholic Church and has aroused interest to read the text of the song. Unfortunately I have to admit that the song in itself is not much convinced me - of course this was only the first run, but at some point it was missing some oomph to the song - let's see if this feeling on the album then confirmed or adjusted. The lack accourded but was then "Open Wide The Gate" is subsequently confirmed in great detail to properly connect it directly to Black Church on the brake pedal. This song is a special request from me was true, for this incredibly intensive creation I wanted to experience live and the expectations for this piece were met in full measure - goose bumps with unpaired pure energy! As perhaps not everyone saw it was then with "Dark Forces" returns to a full gas number the best given what the form of "Metal Reigns Supreme" was something very old unpacked. But in Ludwigsburg, everything was different: Here, the necessary Maniacs, which is expended. But not only have spent itself.
